IIT-Madras TuTr Hyperloop Partners with Global Leaders for Mobility Push

IIT Madras incubated deep-tech startup TuTr Hyperloop is joining hands with leading national and international stakeholders to drive the development of hyperloop technology in India. In a significant Indo-German collaboration, IIT Madras, TuTr Hyperloop Pvt. Ltd. (THPL), the Technical University of Munich (TUM) and Neoways Technologies GmbH (NEO) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to advance research, development and deployment of hyperloop systems.

The MoU was signed during Asia's first Global Hyperloop Competition, held at the Thaiyur Campus of IIT Madras. The signing ceremony was attended by IIT Madras, Director of V. Kamakoti, officials from the Indian Railways and key representatives from all partnering organisations.

The current collaboration aims to speed up the validation and commercialization of hyperloop technology by combining academic research, industrial know-how, and advanced engineering solutions. The focus must be on developing a working framework for joint research and development in such critical areas as propulsion, levitation, structural design, general infrastructure, and advanced control systems.

This partnership aims at developing large-scale test and validation capabilities to examine the technical feasibility and safety of hyperloop transit systems. Such a strategic alliance is supposed to catalyse the development of next-generation mobility solutions in India.

Through this collaboration, the four entities would work jointly to expedite the validation of the technology, planning of infrastructure, and assisting in the establishment of commercial projects in the real world, ushering in a new era of high-speed transportation in the country.
