IIT Madras to Launch Applied Petroleum Engineering and Hydrogen Energy Course, GATE Core not Required
Today, IIT Madras announced a collaboration with Zemblance Hydrocarbons Private Limited to launch a web-enabled postgraduate level advanced certification programme in 'Applied Petroleum Engineering & Hydrogen Energy' (PGPEH).
This hybrid programme combines web-enabled petroleum engineering, renewable energy, and hydrogen energy courses. According to IIT-Madras, the programme aims to bridge the gap between industry requirements and the upskilling and employability of participants with an engineering background and working professionals through its rigorous academic curriculum and cutting-edge research facilities.
Prof Rajesh Nair, Professor of Petroleum Engineering Programme and lead advisor, Zemblance Hydrocarbons, an IIT-M Research Park company, is leading the programme in collaboration with the IITM Pravartak Technologies Foundation. Zemblance Hydrocarbons has partnered with Ed4All for overseas marketing in Africa, Latin America, South Asia, the United States, the United Kingdom, and the Middle East, among other places.
Offline exams will be held at locations across India to ensure that participants are thoroughly assessed and qualified. The PGPEH programme will begin on September 5, 2023, Teachers Day.
Eligibility: The candidate must have passed graduation in engineering/technology or Master’s degree in any relevant science subject or working professionals in oil and gas industries or allied areas
IIT-Madras professors and experienced industry experts from Oil and Natural Gas Corporation Limited (ONGC), Indian Oil Corporation Limited, GAIL (India) & Chennai Petroleum Corporation Limited (CPCL), among others, will offer practical insights during this web-enabled course.
