IIT Madras, L&T EduTech Partners To launch Joint Skilling Programmes For Engineering, Science Students

The Indian Institute of Technology, Madras (IIT M) has partnered with L&T EduTech, Larsen & Toubro's digitally-driven learning initiative, to launch industry skilling programmes for engineering and science students throughout India.

This initiative is being launched with the goal of bridging the gap needed to make students 'industry ready.' It will provide customised programmes for professionals across the industry to upskill and advance their careers. Pravartak Technologies will bring experts from IIT Madras' various engineering and science departments, while L&T EduTech will provide industry expertise.

Each of these courses will provide conceptual knowledge backed up by engineering applications. All participants will be exposed to engineering fundamentals as well as industry-relevant knowledge derived from engineering practise.

Experts hope to reach 25,000 students each year. These courses are delivered in a hybrid format.

By the end of May 2023, details about the programmes will be announced on their respective websites and social media accounts.

"IIT Madras and the L&T group have collaborated on various technology and skill development programmes across departments." Our flagship programme, the 'BIS' (Build India Scholarship), has been a huge success. Through certification programmes, we are now taking a step forward in this relationship to address the skill gap between academia and industry. These programmes are carefully designed by industry and academic experts, with equal emphasis on theory and hands-on sessions. It is intended for professionals and recent graduates in core engineering and IT/ITES who want to upskill, cross-skill, and reskill. "We are looking forward to a fruitful collaboration," said Prof. V. Kamakoti, Director of IIT Madras.
