IIT Kanpur's 5-Year Mentorship of Indian Institute of Skills
The IIT Kanpur and Indian Institute of Skills have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) where IIT Kanpur will provide mentorship to the Indian Institute of Skills (IIS) for the next five years.
The MoU was signed in the presence of Dharmendra Pradhan, who serves as both the Minister of Education and the Minister of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship. In order to align with the progress and uphold the vision of our esteemed Prime Minister, which is "Everyone's support, everyone's development - everyone's trust and everyone's effort", we must construct a new bridge.
In the modern world, technology brings two important outcomes: Knowledge and Skill. It is essential for those without access to quality education to acquire the necessary skills for the contemporary world, while those who are educated must use their knowledge to contribute to the development of a society that meets our needs and aspirations.
In line with the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship's goal of equipping and training young people for careers in the aerospace and defense industry, with a specific focus on supporting the Uttar Pradesh Defence Industrial Corridor, IIS has also signed memorandums of understanding with Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) and Dassault Aircraft Services India (DASI).
The collaboration between IIT Kanpur, Indian Institute of Skills Kanpur, HAL India, and Dassault Aircraft Services India, marks a significant step towards shaping the future of skill development and empowering India's youth, as stated by Dharmendra Pradhan, Hon'ble Union Minister of Education and Skill Development and Entrepreneurship. For the first time in history, the educational institute, skilling institution, and industry are joining forces to collaborate on certifying and preparing the youth for the future
