IIM Kashipur Introduces Digital Empowerment and Interdisciplinary Learning
The Indian Institute of Management (IIM), Kashipur is introducing digital empowerment and interdisciplinary learning in accordance with the National Educational Policy (NEP) 2020.
NEP 2020 promotes the development of thoughtful individuals with one or more areas of specialisation, specifically sciences, social sciences, arts, humanities, and languages, as well as professional, technical, and vocational subjects. It also aims to assist individuals in achieving personal accomplishment, preparing them for productive contributions to society, and enabling economic independence.
IIM Kashipur has been aligning its programmes with the higher education goals outlined in NEP 2020. According to the institute, access to quality education is a major barrier to realising the aspirations of working people.
According to the institute, IIM Kashipur uses synchronous learning technologies to overcome time and distance barriers in delivering content to aspiring working professionals. Over the past several years, the team has developed and successfully implemented several capacity-building programmes in online and hybrid modes in the areas identified in NEP 2020.
Machine learning, big data analytics, supply chain management, financial analytics, strategy and entrepreneurship, project management, and general management are examples of such programmes. In addition, IIM Kashipur has designed these programmes in a variety of formats ranging from 60 hours to one year to meet the diverse needs of working professionals. "This provides opportunities for lifelong upskilling and reskilling for all," said IIM Kashipur.
