How is Advanced Technology Affecting the Teachers' Traditional Pattern of Teaching?

Today, technology is a major element that is growing at a greater pace. Every industry is trying to keep itself updated with the latest technology. But, there are some more industries were due to technology the traditional pattern that is being used since ages is losing its value. On such factor that is been affected by the developing technology is the Teachers Traditional Teaching Pattern.
The technology and teaching patterns are going hand in hand in order to make students learn in a better way and make them understand the subjects easily. Emerging technology has affected the traditional teaching patterns in both the ways, positive and negative. Following are some of the positive impacts of technology on the traditional teaching pattern, and how has it evolved –

1. The major positive effect on traditional teaching pattern is creative teaching and learning. The major milestone in the education sector concerning technology is Smart Class, the innovative way of teaching concepts to students using various technologies. For example, when the students watch a clear video explaining the topic in detail, it will help him/her to understand the concept easily.

2. When the students are given the opportunity to present certain topics to the whole class, the student engagement increases. In such situations, technology or internet access helps the student to search and provide better information to the class.

3. In the present scenario, online teaching has become the new normal. This is possible only because of the technology that will help the teachers to connect with their students easily.

4. A teacher has to keep herself prepared to teach all kind of students, a slow learner or a bright student. She/he should make themselves set to answer all sorts of doubts. Hence, to give more effective and authentic examples the teachers can take the assistance of technology.

Many more positive impacts have helped the teachers in developing their traditional way of teaching. Similarly, some negatives points are affecting the traditional teaching pattern of the teachers. Follow are some of the points mentioned –

1. The foremost disadvantage is that not all teachers might be familiar with the changing technologies in the education system. They might face difficulty in operation these devices or advanced platforms, as they have been using the traditional pattern of their own from a very long time with which they might be very comfortable in teaching the students.

2. As I mentioned above, online teaching is trending in today’s scenario. But, it is becoming difficult for the teachers to hold the attention of the students, as they could do during the physical classes where every student was under one roof. Hence this one factor has both the effects.

3. Most of the things are available online these days, due to which the tradition of asking doubts to the teachers is losing its value. If any students have any doubt with any topic or subject they choose the easiest platform that is searching online. This is affecting the bond between students and teachers.

Hence, the technology has both the aspects in it, the advantage and disadvantage. In the same way in some aspects the technology is helping the teachers to improve their way of teaching but, it is also affecting some traditional patterns as they are losing its importance. But, being a Teacher is a multitalented task and they are capable enough to handle every kind of situation to teach the students.

As the day for teachers is arriving, Happy Teacher’s Day!
