Himachal Government Considers Introducing New Technical Courses in Educational Institutions: CM

Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu stated that the state government will implement radical changes in the field of education following the introduction of 5G technology. He stated that the government is considering introducing new technical courses in state educational institutions in order to provide better employment and self-employment opportunities for the youth.

Robotics, Blockchain Technology, Cyber Security, Cloud Computing Data Analytics, Artificial Intelligence, and Machine Learning, he claims, could provide better job opportunities for the youth.

Sukhu said on Wednesday, while presiding over a Hamirpur Students Union function at Himachal Pradesh University Shimla, that his government was working hard to provide quality education to students in higher education. He stated that Himachal Pradesh University has received an additional Rs 50 crore grant.

He claimed that the previous administration misused resources, causing the state's economic situation to deteriorate. However, the current government has resolved to overhaul the system, and the Himachal Pradesh economy will be brought back on track in the next four years by making prudent economic decisions. He stated that the current government's green budget was a step in the right direction.

He stated that, in order to provide quality education in rural areas, one Rajiv Gandhi Day Boarding School would be established in each assembly constituency in phases, with pre-nursery classes also beginning. He stated that the state government has budgeted Rs 300 crores for this ambitious scheme. Furthermore, to ensure that poor students do not miss out on higher education, they will be given loans with a 1% interest rate.

"Legal rights have been given to 6000 orphans by giving them the status of ‘Children of the State’ and it will be the responsibility of the government to take care of them till they attain the age of 27 years", he said, adding that expenses of their fees, hostel expenses, pocket money of Rs 4000 per month, cloth allowance and festival allowance as well as the expenses of 15 days exposure visit once in a year will also be borne by the state government, he added.
