Government to Provide Technical Education for Youth

Minister of Higher Education M.C. emphasized the importance of developing the technical education and entrepreneurial skills of young people. Sudhakar said his government is committed to changing the education policy of the state to provide necessary technical training and develop entrepreneurship among students.

“We want to add technical education to higher education and  equip our  students  with technical skills so that they can easily find jobs. There are plans to change the higher education curriculum to achieve this goal,” Sudhakar said after laying the foundation stone of the Government Polytechnic College and Government First Degree College in the Aland town of Kalaburag on Wednesday.

Sudhakar said that Article 371 (J) of the Constitution, which gave special status to Karnataka's Kalyana district as a "game changer", said the polytechnic college approved by chief minister Siddaramaiah in his previous tenure did not take off in the state after the government changed hands.

“The Siddaramaiah government approved the polytechnic. However, the project did not take off when the state government changed. As Siddaramaiah assumed the post of Chief Minister for the second time, the project B.R. Patil, Åland MLA,” he said. The Polytechnic would be built on a four-acre site at a cost of 8 crore and the First Degree College would be built on a 3-acre plot at a cost of 6.26 crore.

Rural Development and Panchayat Raj Minister and Kalaburagi in-charge Priyank Kharge said that they have found many business houses expressing interest to invest in the state.
