GLC and VI join hands with Schoolnet to impact Indian Schools

The Global Learning Council (GLC) and Villars Institute (VI) have partnered with Schoolnet India, a leading organization focused on improving teaching and learning outcomes using technology. Utilizing Schoolnet’s knowledge and vast network of 100,000 schools, the collaboration aims to impact 50,000 students and educators in its first year and reach 10 million students over five years.

In the last six months, Schoolnet and GLC have collaboratively launched three impactful initiatives aimed at school students: a pan-India ideathon, capacity-building programs for private schools in partnership with the International Baccalaureate (IB), and the creation of a course focused on climate leadership.

The EcoInnovators Ideathon Grand Finale took place on January 24, 2025, at the India Habitat Centre in New Delhi. The competition motivated students to recognize environmental issues, including air and water contamination or waste management, and suggest creative solutions utilizing technologies like AI, IoT, and robotics. The event saw participation from over 250 plus students from schools in Delhi/NCR, who also took part in an interactive quiz facilitated by Schoolnet’s AI-driven classroom solution.

Another significant highlight was the introduction of a Climate Leadership course for students in Grades 6–8, codeveloped by GLC/VI and Schoolnet. This practical program focuses on environmental stewardship, drawing from systems leadership and planetary boundary concepts, to develop future climate leaders.
