"Future Ready, Job Ready Skills" Initiative to Empower 4 Lakh Kerala Youths

Union Minister of State for Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, Rajeev Chandrasekhar, has launched the "Future Ready, Job Ready Skills" initiative targeting 4 lakh youth in Kerala over the next three years. This initiative falls under the Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana (PMKVY) and aligns with the broader goal of "Viksit Bharat by 2047" envisioned by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

The initiative, backed by PMKVY 4.0, aims to provide futuristic skills to around 4 lakh young individuals in the next three years. It focuses on domains such as Additive Manufacturing, 3D printing, AI - Data Quality Analysis, Drone Manufacturing, and Electric Vehicle Service Technician training. The program is designed to equip youth with cutting-edge skills demanded by emerging industries.

The training courses will be accessible through various channels, including colleges, universities, schools, ITIs (Industrial Training Institutes), Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Kendras, Jan Shikshan Sansthans, and other existing institutes. The initiative aims to empower youth in Kerala with a combination of knowledge and skills, aligning with the government's vision to enhance the skill set of the country's youth in the next five years.

As part of the "Future Ready, Job Ready Skills" initiative, there is a notable component: the German Language Training Program for Healthcare Professionals. This program is implemented in collaboration with NSDC International under the Skill India International initiative.

Specifically tailored for healthcare workers, especially young women from Kerala, the program aims to equip them with linguistic proficiency in German. This proficiency is crucial for effective communication with German-speaking patients and colleagues, ultimately enhancing their global employability. The initiative recognizes the importance of language skills in the healthcare sector and seeks to provide professionals with the tools needed to thrive in an international context.
