Education Ministry Commences Registration For Cultural Connect

The registration portal for Phase III of Yuva Sangam under Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat (EBSB) was launched today by the Ministry of Education. Youth between the ages of 18 and 30, mostly students, National Service Scheme volunteers, Nehru Yuva Kendra Sangthan volunteers, employed and self-employed individuals, and others, are eligible to participate in the campaign.

The initiative aims to foster cultural connections among teenagers from various regions of the country. According to the ministry, Yuva Sangam, which was created under EBSB, is inspired by the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 and emphasizes on experiential learning and first-hand knowledge of the country's rich diversity.

The government has picked 20 famous colleges in the country whose students will visit 22 states and union territories as part of phase III. The students will be sent on youth exposure tours from one state to another, including on-campus and off-campus students. Tourism, traditions, development, people-to-people connections, and technology are all areas of exposure.

The exposure trips will last 5 to 7 days and will provide them with an intensive view of various aspects of the state they are visiting as well as opportunities to connect with local children.

On October 31, 2015, Prime Minister Narendra Modi proposed the idea of Yuva Sangam, and EBSB was established on October 31, 2016.

Yuva Sangam, which was organized jointly on the model of Kashi Tamil Sangamam (KTS), drew a huge reaction and involvement from all around India. More than 3,240 people from all around India have taken part in 73 tours as part of the various phases of Yuva Sangam, including the pilot phase under EBSB.
