Delhi Proposes Establishment of AI Labs in Schools
The Delhi government has announced plans to establish Artificial Intelligence (AI) labs in selected schools to foster advanced technological learning and innovation among students. According to an official notification issued by the Directorate of Education (DoE) on Wednesday, agencies have been invited to submit proposals and conduct demonstrations to set up these labs.
The AI Labs are envisioned as specialized learning environments equipped with advanced tools and technologies, enabling students to explore and understand artificial intelligence concepts. These labs will include hardware, software, and resources designed for hands-on activities like coding, data analysis, machine learning, and robotics.
The DoE emphasized the importance of agencies providing detailed proposals and comprehensive demonstrations of their AI Lab setups. "Qualified and interested agencies are invited to submit proposals and showcase a demonstration of their AI Lab setup and capabilities to the Competent Authority of the Directorate," the notification stated. The submissions must include detailed descriptions of the proposed infrastructure, features, functionalities, training plans, and implementation strategies.
Agencies are required to present their proposals to the office of the Joint Director (IT), Directorate of Education, within seven days of the notice's publication. The Directorate stressed that the demonstrations should clearly outline how the AI Labs will be established and effectively operated in schools, providing the Competent Authority with a thorough understanding of the concept and its execution.
This initiative reflects the Delhi government's commitment to promoting technological education and preparing students for a future where AI plays an integral role.
