CUET 2024: Students Can Choose Up to 5 Subjects with General Aptitude Test
New Delhi, Delhi University (DU) held a webinar on Wednesday regarding the undergraduate admissions process, advising candidates that they need to take the Common University Entrance Test (CUET) in the subjects they took in Class 12. Numerous students and parents took part in the session, during which officials from the admissions branch responded to their questions.
The webinar centered on undergraduate admissions for the next academic year and was presented by DU's Dean of Admissions, Haneet Gandhi, along with Joint Dean Anand Sonkar. They encouraged students to meticulously complete their application forms, making sure to provide correct information, including their name, parents' names, category, as well as a clear photo and digital signature.
Gandhi emphasized that mistakes made while completing CUET applications cannot be corrected afterward.
"Starting this year, students have the option to choose up to five subjects in CUET, which includes 37 subjects, along with a General Aptitude Test." "It's important to select CUET subjects that align with those learned in Class 12," she stated.
Responding to an inquiry from a science student interested in a commerce degree, Gandhi clarified that for BCom (Hons), students should have taken either Mathematics or Accountancy in Class 12. Individuals lacking these subjects cannot qualify for B.Com (Hons.) but are permitted to apply for the B.Com program.
Officials emphasized that although CUET is compulsory for all candidates, Class 12 board results will not affect admissions, other than for passing criteria. They urged the students to depend solely on the DU website for updates and to avoid trusting outside sources.
Delhi University provides 79 undergraduate programs through its 69 affiliated colleges, all of which require CUET scores for admission.
