CBSE Commences Annual Psychological Counseling Program
The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has started the psychological counseling program before the annual examination on January 1, 2024. The program is scheduled from January 1 to February 15, along with a list of worksheets and ideas. Counseling services are strategically designed to help students cope with test-related stress.
CBSE provides a free IVRS service available 24/7 at 1800-11-8004 to ensure easy access to psychological support. The service provides information and tips on stress-free exam preparation, time and stress management, frequently asked questions (FAQs) and essential contact details of CBSE departments in Hindi and English.
Additionally, bilingual podcasts covering various subjects can be accessed on the official CBSE website (www.cbse.gov.in). These podcasts aim to provide valuable insights and guidance to students and parents during the examination period.
For those seeking personalized support, the tele-counseling service is available from 9:30 am to 5:30 pm, Monday to Saturday. This voluntary and free-of-cost service is manned by 65 trained professionals, including principals, counselors, special educators, and psychologists from CBSE-affiliated government and private schools. Among them, 52 are based in India, while 13 are spread across countries such as Kuwait, Nepal, Japan, Doha-Qatar, Oman (Muscat), and the United Arab Emirates (Dubai, Sharjah, Ras-al-Khaimah).
CBSE has pioneered psychological counseling on a large scale for the past 26 years. Since 1998, the board has conducted unweighted examinations for class X and XII students of CBSE-affiliated schools. Our innovative approach includes free telephone counseling, IVRS and student engagement using social media platforms such as YouTube, Facebook and Instagram.
