Assam Government Planning to Merge Class10 and 12 Boards

Assam govt To Oversee Secondary education, Plans To merge 10 and 12 boardsThe Assam government has proposed to combine the state sheets for Classes 10 and 12 into one single element to oversee auxiliary instruction. The state government presented the Assam State School Training Board Bill, 2024 in the Gathering to make another body to control the schooling system till Class 12 in the state.

According to the bill, the Board of Secondary Education, Assam (SEBA) and the Assam Higher Secondary Education Council (AHSEC) will be merged to create a new body -Assam State School Education Board (ASSEB), as per Hindustan times.

The bill has been brought to "regulate, supervise and develop Secondary Education in the state of Assam by merging the existing Board of Secondary Education, Assam, and Assam Higher Secondary Education Council", the preamble of the legislation stated.

The ASSEB will be going by a chairman, to be designated by the public authority. Each division will be overseen by a vice chairman, who will be appointed by the government and report directly to the chairman. The new board will have a sum of 21 individuals, who will have a three-year term, and it tends to be reestablished for an equivalent period.

"The objective is to introduce the Assam State School Education Board Bill, 2024 to develop, regulate and supervise the standards and quality in school education in the state of Assam," Education Minister Ranoj Pegu said in the Statement of Object and Reasons of the Bill.

The consolidation choice was taken at a gathering of the state bureau prior in November last year, led by Boss Pastor Himanta Biswa Sarma. The SEBA is responsible for the Class 10 board exam, while the AHSEC is in charge of the Class 12 exam.
