Arunachal Pradesh Resumes Competitive Exams After Four Years
After a gap of four years, the preliminary of the Arunachal Pradesh Public Service Combined Competitive Examination (APPSCCE)-2024 was conducted successfully throughout the designated 18 districts and 87 venues on Sunday. The examination consisted of two papers – general studies, conducted in the forenoon session, and Paper-II CSAT, held in the afternoon session.
Out of 22,731 aspirants who had applied for the exam, around 17,286 aspirants took the exam. Altogether 76.04% of the total aspirants appeared in the forenoon session, while 17,009 (74.08%) appeared in the afternoon session, APPSC Secretary Parul Gaur Mittal informed this daily.
“Except for two stray instances – one where a candidate did not submit and took away the entire OMR, and one where a PwD candidate was found in possession of a mobile phone – no untoward incident was reported. In both the cases, the commission has taken strict action against the candidates, including cancellation of candidature, and further action will also be taken against the candidates,” said Mittal.
The commission introduced a new OMR sheet plan with three copies in it, including one copy that aspirants could take back home. This received a significantly positive response from the aspirants as a measure of transparency.
“The commission’s focus was on smooth conduct of the exam in a fair and transparent manner,” Mittal said.
The commission deployed jammers in each and every venue of the exam, and the biometrics of each and every candidate was recorded in both the exam sessions. This was in addition to strict frisking procedures by police personnel on entry.
