Arunachal Pradesh Recieves state's first smart government school 'Digi-kaksha' in remote Tirap district
Arunachal Pradesh experienced a watershed moment in education when the remote Tirap district opened the state's first smart government school, Digi-kaksha.
This innovative initiative, spearheaded by IAS Vishakha Yadav, the additional deputy commissioner of Deomali, is set to revolutionise the learning experience for students in the region.
Wangki Lowang, the minister of public health and engineering department (PHED), graced the inauguration of 'Digi-kaksha: A Sustainable Smart Government School' on May 27.
The Deomali administration and the Power Grid Corporation of India Limited (PGCIL) are working together to transform Arunachal Pradesh's education system.
Digi-kaksha is distinguished by its cutting-edge infrastructure, which includes a 4K HD interactive Android teaching board, a first-of-its-kind project in any state government school.
This ground-breaking technology provides an immersive learning experience, with pre-loaded creative content aligned with the CBSE curriculum for Classes Nursery to 12. Virtual experiments, PhET simulations, and interactive question banks are provided to meet the needs of slow and average learners.
Digi-kaksha promotes active learning and aims to provide equal educational opportunities to all students. It is based on the concept of Building as a Learning Aid (BALA).
The project empowers children, including those with special needs, through phonetics, animated videos, and real-life demonstrations, fostering their early educational development.
The PHED minister, Wangki Lowang, emphasised the importance of foundational learning and teaching civic values.
He emphasises the incorporation of hygiene education and anti-drug awareness through weekly documentaries, emphasising education's transformative power.
ADC Vishakha Yadav sheds light on the volunteer-led evening Pathshala, an after-school initiative aimed at reintegrating dropouts into the education system.
Addressing concerns of poor academic performance and rising dropout rates, she credits the project's success to the collective efforts of various departments and stakeholders.
Digi-kaksha also includes teacher training programmes and regular assessments to ensure continuous improvement.
The execution of Digi-kaksha was carried out in collaboration between the Block Development Officer (BDO) of Namsang Block and the Block Education Officer (BEO) of Deomali.
With its focus on simplicity, fun, and engagement, Digi-kaksha sets a promising precedent for digital education in Arunachal Pradesh, paving the way for a brighter future for students in remote areas.
