AICTE Announces YASHASVI Scholarship for Engineering and Diploma Students

The All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) has announces a scholarship scheme named ‘Young Achievers Scholarship and Holistic Academic Skill Enhancement Initiative (YASHASVI) Yojana 2025’ aimed at engineering and diploma students. This scholarship is especially for individuals who studying engineering and technology degrees. The scholarship will be granted to underprivileged students.

5,200 students will be granted scholarships through this scheme, consisting of 2,593 for degree students and 2,607 for diploma students. The amounts granted differ between students pursuing degrees and those who pursuing diplomas. Students pursuing a engineering degree will get 50,000, and students pursuing diploma programs will get 30,000 each year. Engineering students will receive this scholarship for up to four years, and diploma students will receive it for a maximum of three years.

Interested students can submit their applications on the official AICTE website by 15 February. After completion of the application process, AICTE will verify and review all documents. Necessary documents consist of an income certificate, prior examination mark sheets, and proof of admission. Selected students will obtain financial support via Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT).

Scholarship eligibility criteria:

Students must be registered in the first year of a degree or diploma program or the second year via lateral entry at a recognized institution.

– The scholarship applies only to core engineering fields; students shifting to different branches will not qualify.

– The annual income of the applicant's family must not be more than 800,000.

– The income certificate should be provided by the state or union territory government.

– If a student belonging to a reserved category is chosen in the general category merit list, they will be considered as part of the general category.

– The gap between the qualifying exam and admission to the present course must not extended to two years.
