Top Engineering Entrance Exams Other Than JEE Main

In India, engineering is among the most popular professions. Every year, up to 10 lakh students appear for the JEE Main exam, which is administered by the National Testing Agency (NTA), and millions more register for different engineering entrance examinations. The competition in the engineering field is getting stronger by the day. Candidates in India, on the other hand, can pick from even more than 50 engineering entrance examinations, most of which are held at the undergraduate level at the national and state levels, as well as at the institutional level. Although the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Main is perhaps the most popular engineering entrance exam among aspiring engineers because it serves as a doorway to NITs, IIITs, and CFTIs.

Apart from JEE Main, the other top entrance exams in India are BITSAT, SRMJEEE, COMEDK, VITEEE, MHT CET, and so on. In general, most young engineers take more than a single exam throughout an academic year. The following is a list of Engineering Entrance Exam apart from JEE that students can take after graduating from high school to gain admission to BTech Engineering programs.

1. BITSAT –
The University level engineering entrance test, BITSAT (Birla Institute of Technology and Science Admission Test) admits all qualified applicants to BITS' three campuses. Every year, around 2 lakh students take this examination, making it a highly sought-after admission exam. The online examination lasts 3 hours, and the objective-based BITSAT question paper is divided into four sections: Physics, Chemistry, English Proficiency, Logical Reasoning, and Mathematics. There are approximately 2,000 seats available for 2022 admissions.

2. MHTCET –
The MHT CET is a state-level test held once a year. Every year, the DTE (Directorate of Technical Education), Maharashtra conducts the Maharashtra Common Entrance Test (MHT CET) for admissions to first-year Engineering and Technology (BE/BTech) and Pharmacy (BPharma/PharmD) programs in the state. The application forms for the exam are now accessible; nevertheless, MHT CET 2022 will be held in April.
