Indian media has lately been garnering loads of praises and recognition, all thanks to the feisty journalists who are trying their best to be the interlinking chains between the individuals and the world. Lately, we have been envisaging the uprise of some legendary Indian female journalists in this segment, whose exemplary work and promising performances are breaking the glass ceiling and changing the face of Indian journalism. Staying true to their profession and consistently delivering important as well as relevant news, these famous women journalists have emerged as inspiration for budding journalists. Going above and beyond their call of duty, some of the female journalists have been able to prove gender equality in truer terms.

Faye D'Souza
Faye D’Souza is unquestionably one of the most familiar faces of Indian journalism, and through her vibrant attitude she has inspired many women to take the path of journalism. Commencing her career in journalism with All India Radio, D'Souza, went ahead to win the 2018 RedInk Award for ‘Journalist of the Year’. She seized her chance and soon rose to fame with ‘The Urban Debate’ on Mirror Now, where she anchored on subjects pertaining to corruption, communal violence and independent press. In 2019, she quit Mirror Now to start her independent voyage, where she regularly shades lights on government issues, corruption, religious prejudice, and incompetent governance.
Nidhi Razdan
Nidhi Razdan has authored the book, Left, Right and Centre: The Idea of India. Being an honest, aggressive and humorous book, it leads the readers to understand the people who are politicians, activists, administrators, artistes, academicians and their perception of living in India. Starting her career with NDTV, Nidhi went ahead to emerge as one of the eminent faces of Indian journalism. She has been bestowed with numerous awards for her excellence in journalism, and some of them are Ramnath Goenka Award, International Press Institute award, and the Teacher's Achievement Award (TAA) for Communication, and so on.
Madhu Trehan
Starting her professional voyage with the press department of the United Nations, Madhu later became the Founding editor of news magazine India Today. In 1977, she passed over the management of the company to her brother. In 1986, she created and anchored India's first video magazine platform, Newstrack. She is also one of the founding members of Newslaundry – an initiative to craft news as a service to the general public.
Shereen Bhan
A name synonymous with the business and financial news in India, Shereen commenced her career as a news researcher with Infotainment television. She is currently working as the Managing Editor of CNBC-TV18. Over her 18-year-long professional career, Shereen has been associated with some prominent shows like The Nation's Business, Young Turks, India Business Hour, and so on. The World Economic Forum has acknowledged her as one of the Young Global Leaders of 2009. She has alsow been bestowed with the 2005 'FICCI Woman of the Year' award.
Shaili Chopra
Shaili is the founder of the ‘SheThePeople.TV’, which is India's first podium for promoting inspirational stories on successful women. Having worked with NDTV-profit and ETNOW throughout her amazing career, Shaili has also authored four books. She was also one of the brave journalists to report live from the Taj Hotel during the 26/11 attacks. In 2012, she was awarded with the Ramnath Goenka Award for Brilliance across the field of Business Journalism.
Patricia Mukhim
A Padma Shri recipient who is also acknowledged for her prolific work as a social activist, Patricia Mukhim is the editor of The Shillong Times. Owing to her prompt work which are majorly focused on the socio-political milieu of Meghalaya, Patricia has won several awards, including the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry FLO award, Chameli Devi Jain award, Upendra Nath Brahma Soldier of Humanity award, North East Excellence award, and Siva Prasad Barooah National award.
