List of Exams Postponed Due To Coronavirus Outbreak

Causing a worldwide panic, the novel coronavirus has brought the daily lives of everyone to halt. Affecting almost more than 220,000 persons all over the world, the pandemic is considered to be the reason of death for a total of 8,800 victims and still counting. Although the death toll in India has been steady after three demises till now, the number of coronavirus affected patients is rising at an alarming rate. Witnessing the seriousness of the situation, all the schools, colleges, and universities have been closed and classes have been suspended to avoid mass gatherings. Even the scheduled examinations are either dismissed or postponed to alternate dates for the safety and security of the students.

CBSE has recently issued a notice regarding the board exams 2020 for class 10th and 12th notifying that the exams are going to be delayed till 31st of March. After carrying out the further investigation of the state of the country with respect to the coronavirus outbreak, the dates for the exams will be finalized. The evaluation process of answer sheets has also been withheld till the 31st of March and supposed to be recommencing unless stated otherwise by the CBSE board.

Similarly, CISCE has also issued a notice regarding the postponement of ICSE board exams 2020 for standard 10th and 12th. The exam was supposed to take place on the 19th of March but now has been held up till the 31st of March. The revised dates are expected to release soon, as informed by Gerry Arahtoon, CISCE Chief Executive.

JEE Main Examination 2020, which was supposed to be held on 5th, 7th, 9th, and 11th of April, has been postponed by the National Testing Agency (NTA). The release of admit card for the candidates which were supposed to be done by the 20th of March has also been withheld and is going to be available on the website on the 31st of March.

Top technological institutions like IIT Delhi and IIT Kanpur have suspended their classes as well as all the exams till the 31st of March on the circumstance of coronavirus outbreak.

The ITBP Constable exam, conducted by Indo-Tibetan Border Police for the recruitment of border guidance force has been dismissed until any further notification. Approximately 50,000 candidates across 11 states from the country applied for the exam, which was supposed to be conducted on the 22nd of March. Reportedly, the Indian Army has also delayed all its recruitment procedures for a month as the country fights back the severe outbreak of coronavirus pandemic.

The UP state government has canceled all the exams till the 8th standard and promoted the students to the next class. To ensure the safety and security of the teachers as well the state government has decided to overdue the assessment of answer sheets till the 2nd of April.

The Delhi High Court has postponed the Delhi Higher Judicial Services Main Exam 2019 which was scheduled to be conducted on the 14th and 15th of March. As informed by Delhi High Court, the rescheduled dates will be available on the website shortly.

The Aligarh Muslim University has also decided to postpone the admission tests for class 6th and 11th which was scheduled to take place from the 22nd of March to the 29th of March. The renewed exam dates are yet to be determined and will be announced soon.

Maharashtra is currently facing the severity of the coronavirus at an alarming rate. To take preventive safety measures the govt. of Maharashtra has decided to reschedule the MAH MCE CET 2020. The exam which was supposed to be conducted on the 28th of March has been rescheduled on the 30th of April.

Currently nursing the highest number of patients in India, Kerala Public Service Commission has dismissed various examinations in view of the novel coronavirus outbreak. The list of the exams which are dismissed is as follows:

  1. Dictation Tests for Reporter Grade (2) Malayalam
  2. Confidential Assistant Grade (2)
  3. OMR Test for Police Constable (IRB)
  4. Physical Efficiency Test for Forest Drivers
  5. Civil Excise Officer (NCA-SCCC Ernakulam District)
  6. Female Constable (NCA Community)

Every other state of the country has decided to dismiss the classes and examinations in schools and colleges. The government exams, as well as non-government exams, have either been called off or rescheduled for the pandemic outbreak.
