KL Deemed University secures Spot in India's Elite 5G Labs
KL Deemed to University, one of India's premier educational institutions, is pleased to announce its selection into the prestigious "100 5G Use Case Labs" initiative for colleges across India. Department of Telecommunications (DoT) has given this honor to the Department of Electronics and Communication of the University. The inauguration took place online by the Honorable Prime Minister of India during India Mobile Congress-2023 at Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi.
DoT's ambitious initiative aims to set up 100 5G deployment labs at major tertiary institutions across India, covering all states and union territories. These laboratories play a key role in developing and testing 5G applications in various fields such as education, agriculture, healthcare and other fields.
The goal of the program is to advance the knowledge of 5G technology among students and the academic community. It emphasizes building a collaboration platform between academia and industry and provides start-ups and MSMEs with access to the latest 5G tests. The ultimate vision is to prepare India's academic and startup ecosystems for the upcoming 6G technology transition.
