Recognizing the dire need of technical exposure and true inspiration for the present day school students, the student fraternity of IIT Guwahati organize TECHNOTHLON- The International School Championship as a part of their Annual Techno-Management Festival TECHNICHE. Technothlon has now become an event which serves as an able platform to expose the innovation and creativity of a student in all its rawness.

Conducted in 2 phases - Prelims and Mains, Technothlon '16 witnessed a huge participation from over 400 centres all over the nation. The students are divided into Junior Squad (Classes 9-10) and the Hauts Squad (Classes 11-12), who get separate question papers set by the students of IIT Guwahati. The paper is totally different from that of any other competitive examination; being based on logic, analytical ability and practical observations. The paper is to be attempted jointly by a team of 2. The prelims thus require no initial preparation- just the sheer spontaneity and out-of-the-box thinking capability of the candidates is tested. The top 50 teams are invited for the next round - Mains held during Techniche at IIT Guwahati.

The next edition of Technothlon is to be held in 2017 with the Prelims scheduled for 16th July. Those who make through to the mains will be invited to the IITG campus during Techniche from 31st August to 3rd September 2017, where they will contest in more challenging rounds, trying to bag the championship. There are various prizes for the winning teams from each squad. Exciting prizes were awarded to each of the winning participants of Technothlon, which include a guided tour of the NASA, USA for the Winners in each squad.

Offline registration can now be done by contacting the respective city representative (contact details available on the website. Post-examination, the student would be provided with an in-depth analysis report of their strengths and weaknesses with respect to the topics they faced throughout the paper -- this way enabling them to do better in future examinations.
