GATE Scores
In GATE, the exam for different subjects has been conducted in single and multiple sessions.Students can check their result online using their enrolment number and other details which will be mentioned on their GATE Admit card. The exams held in single session only their actual marks will be released. However, the exams that were conducted in multiple sessions, their normalised marks will be calculated. GATE uses a formula to calculate normalised marks and students must follow the same set of procedures to obtain their normalized marks for multiple sessions.
This year the cut off was increased at a rapid rate. However, this is not the only reason that affects the number of students qualifying for the GATE exam. There are many other reasons due to which the GATE cut-off may vary. To a large extent, the performance depends on a candidate’s hard work or his preparations, but it is not the only reason. There can be several other reasons like:
The difficulty level of the exam as it happens that some year the difficulty level is high whereas some years it is kept moderate. The total number of applications received because this is also a major cause that creates variation in the Cutoff. The total number of seats available for the current year, for a particular branch.
