BTech in Aircraft Maintenance and Operations

The Bachelor of Technology in Aircraft Maintenance and Operations has been developed in response to demand from the booming aircraft industry, and provides the opportunity for graduates to BOTH obtain their degree AND satisfy the knowledge requirements for the EASA Part 66 Aircraft Maintenance License (AML) in Category C in just four years. Delivering a unique blend of academic and industry-focused content, the programme is designed to equip students for senior positions in the aircraft industry.
Four year course divided into eight academic semesters
On-Aircraft Practical Training module is in the summer after Year 3 and is conducted in a live maintenance environment at Shannon Aerospace
13 EASA modules delivered by Shannon Aerospace aviation industry tutors
All teaching (except the On-Aircraft Practical Training module) is delivered on the UL campus
This programme is offered in partnership with Lufthansa Technik Shannon Ltd, a leading maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) and modifications’ services provider for civil operated aircraft.

It is the only University degree in aircraft maintenance and operations offered in Ireland and in partnership with an EASA Part 145 Aircraft Maintenance Organisation and an EASA Part 147 Aircraft Maintenance Training Organisation;
Besides obtaining their degree, students can also satisfy the basic knowledge requirements for the EASA Part 66 Aircraft Maintenance License in category C, through the examinations administered by Shannon Aerospace (an approved EASA Part 147 Aircraft Maintenance Training Organisation);

Aircraft Manufacturers (with an Aeronautical Engineering Masters): Aircraft and engine design and manufacturing.

Fees and Scholarships:  The annual tuition fee is approximately €15,000. The ‘UL International Aircraft Maintenance and Operations Scholarships’ will be awarded to high achieving students at the time of application.  Scholarships will range in the value of €3, 800 -€7,600.  UL is currently accepting applications for this unique programme and students are encouraged to apply early.
