New IPA Branch Established in Aditya Bangalore Campus

The Indian Pharmaceutical Association (IPA) Bengaluru (Urban) Local Branch is now housed within the Aditya Bangalore Institute of Pharmacy Education and Research (ABIPER). This is the 60th IPA local branch. There are 22 IPA state Branches and 59 Local branches in the country. An IPA Student Chapter was also approved for ABIPER.

The new office bearers include Dr. B A Vishwanath, president of the IPA Bangalore (Urban) branch. Dr K Ramesh, vice president; Dr. Shobha Rani, director, principal, ABIPER is the secretary; Dr Shiva Kumar Swamy, joint secretary; Dr. Amit Kumar Das, principal, ABIPER  is the Treasurer; and the six executive committee members comprised from various colleges.
Those present included Dr. T V Narayana, national president of the Indian Pharmaceutical Association (IPA). Karnataka drugs controller Bhagoji T Khanapure,  Dr. Premnath Shenoy, president, IPA Karnataka State Branch, Prof. VB Desai, chairman,  Pharma Training Institute, Dr B R Jagashetty, former National Adviser (Drugs Control) to Union Health Ministry and former Karnataka State Drugs Controller, Suresh Khanna, national secretary, Indian Pharmaceutical Association,  and Dr. Rao Vadlamudi, former president, Indian Pharmaceutical Association and Commonwealth of Pharmacy Association). Besides, around 40 principals of pharmacy colleges and over 500 students were present.
