NEET 2020 Counselling Round 2 Postponed, Check Latest Updates Here
As per the latest notice by the MCC, the round 2 of UG counselling has been postponed and will begin on November 20. Further, the seat surrender facility for round-1 seats has been reopened and the facility will be available till 5 PM of Nov 19.
The second round of counselling for admission for MBBS degree will begin at mcc.nic.in on November 20. Those who have not got a seat in the first round of counselling but have cleared the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) can start registering at the official website. As per the prior schedule, the registrations were to begin from November 18 and will continue till November 22 (3 pm). The reason for the delay in round 2 of NEET 2020 counselling is stated as the revision of seat matrix owing to the addition of seats reserved for Wards of Insured Persons (IP Quota) in the final number of MBBS/BDS seats.
The 2nd round counselling for one of the toughest competitive exam, NEET 2020 will be conducted for admission to 15% All India Quota (AIQ) seats, deemed and central universities, ESIC, AFMC, AIIMS, and JIPMER.
As the registration process for the second round of NEET counselling has been postponed, the delay in the further processes i.e. payment of registration fee, choice locking, processing of seat allotment, counselling result declaration, and reporting can be expected. Listed below are the candidates who are eligible for NEET UG counselling 2020:
- Candidates who have not been allotted any seat in the round one.
- Candidates who did not appear for the first round of counselling
- Candidates who either did not join or have surrendered the seat allotted to them in counselling round one.
- Reserved category candidates whose admission got cancelled during the first-round document verification process can apply under a different category.
Candidates who are participating in the 2nd Round of Counselling for NEET 2020 are advised to go through the important instructions that are listed below. These instructions will help candidates understand the counselling process and also point out the important terms and conditions for the same.
- As directed by the Supreme Court of India, Students taking admission to MBBS / BDS programmes under AIQ (All India Quota) will not be permitted to vacate seats
- Candidates allotted seats under 2nd Round in AIQ/ Deemed Counselling, can only opt for Exit with Forfeiture of security amount
- Candidates who are registered in 1st Round but didn’t get seats are eligible to participate in the 2nd Round
- Registered candidates whose seats got cancelled after being allotted in 1st Round during document verification, are eligible to participate
- Candidates allotted seats in 1st Round but those who are seeking upgradation
- Candidates who have been allotted seat under 1st Round but those who have not joined
- All Candidates need to register fresh for Round 2. There is no automatic carry over
