Through their Newly Launched Business School BITSoM, BITS Pilani Plans to Offer a 2-year MBA Programme

BITS Pilani launched the BITS School of Management (BITSoM) which is a new-age global business school. The B-school is being set up in the Mumbai Metropolitan Region (MMR), which is widely regarded as the business capital of India, with an investment of more than Rs 1500 Cr over the next 10 years. BITSoM will offer a futuristic curriculum in its 2-year residential MBA degree program, with a stellar faculty, handpicked from the top business schools around the globe, said a statement from the institute.

Speaking on the launch Kumar Mangalam Birla, chancellor, BITS Pilani, said: “The accelerating trends of digitization, sustainability, and de-globalization are reshaping the world in more ways than one can imagine. In a world marked by uncertainty, it is time to introduce a new way of thinking and prepare young leaders for this age of disruption. Building on the legacy of BITS Pilani, we have envisioned that BITSoM will mould visionary game-changers through a new age MBA degree program, that goes beyond management studies alone. The endeavour is not just to redefine management education, but also help articulate the role of business in society. BITSoM will, in its unique way, advance the cumulative wisdom of management thinking in India. It will bring a new set of ideas, principles and frameworks and collaborate with existing institutions to make India a potential global hub for management education. Great institutions, after all, help build nations and advance progress.”

BITSoM will provide students a platform to learn from the brightest minds across industry and academia globally. This will include globally renowned professors from top B-Schools such as NYU Stern School of Business, Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania, Singapore Management University and Kellogg School of Management, in addition to leading industry practitioners.

The students will also gain access to relevant industry networks and insights through pioneering leaders who will be a part of the distinguished Governing Council, an elite body led by Kumar Mangalam Birla, responsible for providing strategic direction to BITSoM.
