IIM-A & FPSB India launch Executive Programming in Financial Planning

The Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad (IIMA) has collaborated with FPSB India, the Indian branch of Financial Planning Standards Board Ltd. (FPSB) to initiate the executive program in financial planning and investment advisory services. This partnership seeks to enhance the importance of structured financial planning education in India.

Aimed at mid-to-senior finance professionals, the one-year program will provide participants with expertise in investment management, retirement tax planning, estate and portfolio risk management, insurance, and alternative investments, as well as understanding of regulatory frameworks and ethical standards.

The program highlights behavioral finance, leadership, negotiation, and communication abilities, crucial for modern financial advisors. Enrollment for the course commenced in March and will conclude in August. The first group will commence in September 2025.

The program utilizes a blended learning approach, integrating 84 online weekend sessions with 10 days of hands-on on-campus education at IIMA. Participants will partake in practical case studies, industry engagements, and lively classroom discussions with esteemed faculty and professionals. Once they successfully complete the program, they will obtain alumni status in accordance with IIMA guidelines, thereby enhancing their professional qualifications.

At the same time, the Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Ahmedabad was placed 27th for Business and Management Studies in the Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) World University Rankings by Subject for 2025. The Indian School of Mines (ISM) University in Dhanbad secures the leading rank in India. A total of 79 Indian institutions are included in the 15th edition of the QS World University Rankings by Subject.

The Indian School of Mines University, Dhanbad is positioned 20th in the world for Engineering – Mineral and Mining, which is the leading subject area in India, followed by the Indian Institute of Technology Delhi (IIT-D) in Engineering and Technology at 26th, and the Saveetha Institute of Medical and Technical Sciences (deemed university) in Dentistry also at 26th rank. IIT Bombay, IIT Kharagpur, and the University of Delhi all have 29 entries in the 2025 rankings. Among them, IIT Bombay emerges as the top performer in absolute terms, with 12 subjects showing progress.
