IIM Kozhikode Opens Admissions for Executive MBA for working Professionals
The Indian Institute of Management Kozhikode (IIMK) has started the admission process for the 18th cohort of its renowned Executive Post Graduate Programme (EPGP) in Management. This is a two-year MBA program specifically tailored for employed individuals aiming to advance in their careers. This program combines online courses with in-person instruction, providing students the freedom to learn while maintaining their employment.
The commencement of the new batch was highlighted by a unique convocation ceremony for the 15th batch, which comprised 615 students, the largest number to date. The event saw attendance from Prof. Debashis Chatterjee, Director of IIMK, alongside Dr. V. Narayanan, Chairman of ISRO. Prof. Chatterjee mentioned that the EPGP program aids individuals in becoming effective leaders characterized by integrity, ambition, and a zeal for knowledge. He mentioned that the program is an ideal blend of theoretical knowledge and practical skills, preparing professionals from various fields for the future.
This program appeals to individuals from different sectors such as IT, Banking, Aerospace, Healthcare, FMCG, Public Sector, and others. Previous students have hailed from a variety of academic disciplines including Engineering, Medicine, Architecture, Law, Fashion, and Media, possessing work experience that spans from 3 to 25 years. The amount of female participants is also increasing. The 17th group consisted of 26% women, the highest percentage yet. It also possesses certifications from AMBA and EQUIS, and operates its own entrepreneurship center, IIMK LIVE.
The program comprises 750 hours of instruction, delivered via online interactive sessions and three in-person meetings. Students learn main subjects such as Marketing, Accounting, Finance, HR, and Strategy, in addition to electives like Digital Transformation and International Business. Instruction occurs via lectures, case studies, live projects, and assignments, conducted by seasoned IIMK educators and industry specialists. Students can also connect with IIMK’s extensive alumni network comprising more than 13,000 professionals. To be accepted into the program, applicants are required to take the EMAT exam and participate in an interview. Individuals possessing a valid CAT, GRE, or GMAT score (within the last three years) may forgo the EMAT.
