Topper Soham Katkar believes CAT is easier to crack for engineering students
Mumbai boy Soham Katkar topped the CAT Exam 2021 this year with 100 percentile and he strongly disagrees with the idea that CAT is a toughest management entrance. According to him, "CAT is just like any other competitive exam and I think it to be quite easy for the engineering students. We have appeared in lots of engineering entrances starting from JEE Main, JEE Advanced and so on, which were of similar difficulty level like the management entrance. Specifically, the Maths portion of CAT is comparatively easier than that most of the engineering entrances,” states the Computer Science Engineering graduate from K J Somaiya College of Engineering, Mumbai.

What to do If you Didn’t score well in CAT 2021?
After the results for CAT 2021 declared, it is only natural that many candidates must have failed to meet their expected results. The right way to view success should not be through the lens of high percentile but in terms of your prospects of doing an MBA from a top B-school in India. Some of the options are mentioned below:
- If you have a good academic record, there are a few non-IIMs which are as renowned as the IIMs themselves such as FMS Delhi, NITIE Mumbai, MDI Gurgaon, Welingkar, and more, to try for MBA.
- If you are unable to make it to the old IIMs, you still have a chance with the new IIMs such as IIM Shillong, IIM Ranchi, IIM Kashipur, IIM Bodhgaya, and IIM Sambalpur, and any other new IIMs as their cut-off eligibility is much lesser compared to the other top B-Schools and IIMs.
- CAT is the not the only way to do management courses, and there are other MBA entrance exams to help you find your way to one of the B-schools. Some of the upcoming MBA entrances are GMAT, CMAT, SNAP, MAT, ATMA, TISS NET, MICAT, KMAT, and so on. Soon the registration will begin for state-level MBA entrances as well as TS ICET, MAH CET, AP ICET, Karnataka PGCET, and more. You can also go for university-based MBA entrance tests such as CUSAT, BVP CET, IPU CET, SAAT, and so on.
