Robotics learning is one such skill which is gaining prominence amongst the young learners. Today, robotics is just not about `building robots', but it is one of the most rapidly growing fields which has got its applications across various industries. Promoting holistic development of a child, Robotics offers a comprehensive empowerment program to students, focusing on development and application of core life skills and Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) learning, in order to solve real-life problems. From its applications ranging from military to domestic to research, Robotics as a career option is gaining popularity among the current generation of students. Carrying goods around on the production floor to conducting complex medical procedures or being on a space exploration mission, robots are fast becoming an integral part of our lives. This, coupled with the advancements in other areas such as artificial intelligence and machine learning is making robotics play an increasingly crucial role in our life. A global report in 2017 brought to light that there are only three robots per 10,000 employees in India. This is a clear sign of how India is still in its nascent stage when it comes to the rise of robotics. The number is insufficient to support the country's industrial growth targets for sustained growth. With the current demand to automate operations across industries, increase efficiency and minimize human risks, the need of the industry is brilliant minds which can create highly effective yet low-cost robotic solutions. There are numerous training institutes stepping ahead to provide such talent with quality robotics training and courses. In this issue of Higher Education Review magazine, we have showcased a list of `Top 10 Promising Robotics Training Institutes in India - 2019'- a carefully crafted list that reflects the uniqueness of institutes who are leading light of the education industry, offering hands-on learning through their robotics training session.
