This is our India - a country that has always amazed the global as well as domestic travellers with its diverse culture and cuisines. While India's rising middle class and increasing disposable incomes have continued to support the growth of domestic and outbound tourism, the Indian tourism and hospitality industry has emerged as one of the key drivers of growth among the services sector. As one of the largest employment generators besides being a significant source of foreign exchange for the country, the tourism and hospitality sector currently employs over 9.68 million employees. With three types of institutions -- public or private institutions that provide general training (with or without a leading industry player as partner), learning and development institutions working with employers to upgrade workforce skills, and government-run skill-improvement schemes, it is observed that there is a variation in the quality of training imparted to the students. This affects their employability for job roles and the pay on offer to trained students. While number of institutes in the space has increased, concerns over the quality of supply, as well as trainers continue to exist in the industry. In this issue, we have used different parameters to present you the `Top 10 Promising Hotel Management Colleges in India - 2017.'
