| | 4 July 2021ReviewEditorialEastern European countries are experiencing rapid development in all sectors, especially in their educational systems, as the collaboration between EU member states became tighter, Eastern universities reached Western standards and quality. Defining the countries belonging to the Easter Europe is a complicated process, as there is no consensus on the precise area it covers, partly because the term has a wide range of geopolitical, geographical, cultural, and socioeconomic connotations. Apparently, there are "almost as many definitions of Eastern Europe as there are scholars of the region". One such definition describes Eastern Europe as a cultural entity: the region lying in Europe with the main characteristics consisting of Greek, Byzantine, Eastern Orthodox, Russian, and some Ottoman culture influences. Another definition was created during the Cold War and used more or less synonymously with the term Eastern Bloc. Putting all the countries back to back, there is no field left uncovered by the Eastern European countries, be it Law in Lithuania, Economics in Poland or Business and leadership in Hungary, you can find your field instantly with a simple search and be the one who stands out in a crowd of students. Affordable education and low cost living amidst spectacular natural beauty would add more excitement to the dreams of studying in the Eastern Europe. An increasing number of international students are choosing eastern Europe in recent years, with universities in Romania, Hungary, Poland and the Czech Republic among the most popular. In this annual issue of Higher Education Review magazine, we have showcased `Top 10 Universities and Colleges in Eastern Europe for Indian Students - 2021', a list which represents some of best institutes offering promising learning experiences.
