| | 4 April 2019HIGHERReviewEditorialA lot of people often question, what the future of Dentistry is going to be in India, especially with the growing number of Dental institutes in India, and the number of Dental graduates passing out each year. With the increasing population, there is high scope of dentistry all around the world. People are more aware and concerned about oral health and have come to know the importance of a good smile in looking beautiful or professional. Dentistry is a broad subject which focuses not only on the health of your teeth, but on all issues related to the human skull: from the jaw to the cranium, as well as the health of the facial region. Studying a Bachelor's and Master's degree in Dentistry lets you specialize in Head and Neck Anatomy, Surgical Techniques, Implant Surgery, Forensic Dentistry, and Biomaterials and Ergonomics in Oral Diseases. Being a dentist is challenging, but a rewarding profession. With more than 300 dental schools in India, producing about 30,000 graduates per year with only about 3000 post graduate seats available, the current scenario for an upcoming dentist is both difficult and competitive all at the same time. Earlier a Master's degree (MDS) after Bachelor's (BDS) would have been a perfect career plan for a bright future as a dentist, but every profession has its positives and negatives and like any other profession, you should consider both when deciding if a career in dentistry is right for you. By statistics, the oral health awareness among the common man is increasing; the number of dental clinics and chains are also increasing which eventually opens numerous windows of opportunity for the aspirants. This issue of Higher Education Review Magazine showcases a list of "Top 10 Promising Dental Colleges in India - 2019". We strongly believe that it is important to bring such institutions to the limelight, so that, their ideologies and methodologies can inspire other institutions as well as students to pursue a career as a dentist in India. Hope this feature helps you in your future endeavors and we achieve our mission.Your thoughts are always welcome!Deepshikha SinghManaging Editordeepshikha@thehighereducationreview.comChoosing Dentistry as a Career Vol 7 · Issue 2-3 · APRIL 12, 2019Publisher & Editor Alok ChaturvediManaging Editor Deepshikha Singh Editorial Team Lakshmi G Lesly Joseph Riya Das Aveek Pal Chaudhuri Susma M Kerketta Editorial Queries Sales & Advertisement Advertisement queries Office To Subscribe Visit www.thehighereducationreview.com/subscription or send email to subscription@thehighereducationreview.comCover price is Rs. 150 per issue.Printed and Published By Alok Chaturvedi on behalf of BizprintMedia Technologies Pvt Ltd and Printed at Precision Fototype Services at Sri Sabari Shopping Complex, 24 Residency Road Bangalore-560025 and Published At No. 124, 2nd Floor, Surya Chambers, Old Airport Road, Murigheshpalya, Bangalore-560017.Copyright © 2019 BizprintMedia Technologies Pvt Ltd, All rights reserved.
