B.Higher Education Review ReviewEditorialAs per a recent report, there has been a 30-40 percent drop in Indian students going to the US & UK for higher studies. The major reason being cited is that it is now very difficult to find a job in these countries after graduation due to visa restrictions and an overall shortage of jobs. Considering the high cost of foreign education, many students now feel that the return on their investment will not be sufficient due to this dire job situation. Some students are also applying to universities in countries like Canada and Australia, which makes it easier for them to find a job after their studies are over. However, the economies of these countries are not growing fast enough to generate enough jobs for all immigrants. Additionally, they primarily offer jobs to foreign students who have done their master's degrees in specialized areas like data analytics or medicine, where there is a shortage of local talent. Foreign students who do an undergraduate or post graduate degree in general areas like business, media or liberal arts do not have many job openings available to them. However, one country which is opening its doors and windows to new opportunities if Sri Lanka. Located just off the southern coast of India, Sri Lanka is a diverse and beautiful island nation with a long history and unique culture. During the British colonial period, the country, known as Ceylon, was famous for its tea exports, notably Ceylon Tea. But Sri Lanka is more than just a leading exporter of tea. The Sri Lankan government is on mission to `delight' students, industry, employees, and other stakeholders in the country's higher education system by implementing effective, efficient strategies to produce `the best intellectuals, professionals, researchers [and] entrepreneurs' and to make Sri Lanka `The Wonder Of Asia'. Some universities in Sri Lanka like the University of Colombo, the country's oldest university and one of its most highly rated, have stepped-up efforts to attract international students to promote educational mobility in the country. Other universities like University of Sri Jayewardenepura offer scholarships for international students which provide free tuition, room, and board for up to two years. Portraying some of the best colleges in Sri Lanka, Higher Education Review brings you `Top 10 Colleges in Sri Lanka 2022', a list which represents some of best institutes offering quality courses in the country. We strongly believe that it is important to bring such institutions to the limelight, so that their ideologies and methodologies can inspire other institutions and at the same time help students in choosing the right college.Your thoughts are always welcome!Deepshikha SinghManaging Editordeepshikha@thehighereducationreview.comPursue Overseas Education beyond Contemporary OptionsPOWER TO INNOVATETrusted by Global Organizations for Executing InnovationCREATE AN IMPACT WITH IDEABRIDGE SAAS INNOVATION MANAGEMENT PLATFORMFor further details visit us at www.ideabridge.co | sales@ideabridge.in | +91 9820194157 | +91 8928947258
