| |9 JULY 2023HIGHERReviewFOCAL POINT DELHI EDU MINISTER EXPLORES COLLABORATION WITH UNIVERSITY COLLEGE LONDON TO TRANSFORM MCD SCHOOLSDelhi Education Minister Atishi has embarked on a visit to the United Kingdom with a significant agenda: exploring a potential partnership with University College London (UCL) to revolutionise the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) schools.The collaboration aims to introduce the best pedagog-ical and educational practices to the classrooms, thereby elevating the standard of education in the national capital.The Delhi government has been proactive in strength-ening international collaborations to enrich the knowl-edge and skills of its educators.Over 1100 teachers and principals from Delhi gov-ernment schools have been sent to prestigious educational institutions across the globe, including countries like the United Kingdom, Finland, Singapore, and others."Education has always been the priority of the CM Arvind Kejriwal-led government. After Delhi govern-ment schools, now our focus is on MCD schools, and rev-olutionising the education system in them is our priority", she stated."In order to make MCD schools world-class education institutions, it is important for us to let MCD teachers ex-plore the education trends across the world. Partnership with institutions like UCL will help us do so", she added."Having our teachers trained here will be very useful for the students of MCD schools. Teachers will be able to bring the best pedagogical practices to the classrooms and contribute to the holistic development of students in their formative years", Atishi said.During the visit to UCL, Minister Atishi was accom-panied by the Delhi education secretary, the director of education of MCD, and a senior faculty member from the State Council of Educational Research and Training (SCERT), Delhi.
