V.S.B. Engineering College is one of the very few reputed Institutions in India to offer B.E. Aeronautical Engineering course. Established in 2005, the department has a wide range of teaching activities with practical exposure grouped under broad areas namely Aerodynamics and Computational Fluid Dynamics, Aircraft Structures, Aircraft and Rocket Propulsion, Avionics, High Temperature materials & composites, Aircraft Systems & Instrumentation, a Piper Cherokee Aircraft with instrument bay and Airframe & engine maintenance areas.

The institute offers a variety of undergraduate, post graduate and doctoral programs in Mechanical, Electronics, Telecommunications and other branches in the engineering domain.
Academic Resources
The central library setup by the Institute caters to the information needs of the information needs of the institute's faculty, students, staff and researchers. There are around 35,000 books covering all disciplines of engineering, technology, and management. The library also houses non-book collections which include learning material in audio/video cassettes, and CDROM discs.
Although the Library is a widely used facility, the students at VSB Engineering College primarily utilize the Language Laboratory to improve their language skills. In order to acquire the ability to communicate effectively, students train themselves everyday to enhance their performances in Interviews, Group Discussions and other Recruitment Exercises. For the same purpose, the lab has 66 computers with two major softwares namely English Mastery and Globarena which will help students familiarize themselves with the English Language.
The third widely used facility in this institute is the 1,200 seating capacity Auditorium utilized for a variety of purposes; educational or non-educational. The Auditorium is equipped with the latest LCD Projectors, Surround sound systems and other necessary equipment. The institute has ensured that faculty members teaching and guiding the students pursuing various programs are enthusiastic and are very interested in the subjects they teach. The faculty members who have obtained their doctoral degrees provide all the necessary guidance to the candidates pursuing their research.

Hostel:
The institute has built separate hostel facilities for boys and girls. They have ensured that various facilities such as a recreation hall, multi-gym facility and provision for a variety of indoor games have been provided. To stay in touch with family and friends, students can utilize the telephones readily available within the hostel premises.
Clubs, Cultural Activities and Sports:
To satisfy the research and development needs of its students, the institute has ensured that a research and development cell has been setup and is running actively. From its inception, the cell has been focusing on research areas such as Robotics, Soft Computing, Cloud Computing, Image Processing and others. The institute also provides assistance to its students who are interested of continuing their studies abroad or in IITs and various other educational institutions.
Although academics is given the highest importance, VSB Engineering College has ensured that the boys and girls have access to separate grounds to play sports activities such as football, volleyball, cricket, hockey and various other games in the evening which will help them develop holistically. For those students who are interested in playing Table Tennis, the institute has provided sufficient number of tables along with the necessary equipment to play the game. Students are given the opportunity to showcase their talents in various cultural activities which are conducted during the annual and sports days celebrations.

V.S.Balsamy, is the founder and trustee of the VSB Educational Trust, which he established in 2000. He has been practicing law for the last 31 years after completing his Bachelor of Science and Law Degree. He has received a numerous awards for his humanitarian work. He lays a lot of emphasis on 'Hard Work' as he strongly believes that "HARD WORK IS THE KEY TO SUCCESS".
