The state performed reasonably in terms of literacy growth during the decade 2001 – 2011. According to 2011 Census, literacy rate in Tamil Nadu has been upward trend and is 80.09 percent.
Now, let us take its major city, Chennai as a case study. Chennai stands with the literacy rate of 90.33 percent and serves as a hub of education.
