A creative aspirant should always plan his education and career in a way that it will serve as a vital step in taking them to the next level. This is a discipline which requires a lot of work. A common misconception is that the Multimedia is something that you go for when you are not good at doing anything else. If you are not good at anything else, you are going to be bad at multimedia even at a worse level. It takes a lot of effort, time and attitude to master these media. And once you do, you are going to love it. Creativity, Attitude and Knowledge of the medium - these are three principle attributes for any good company to factor in while considering a fresher. This is where most of the run-of-the-mill graduates fail. A well-researched individual with a positive learning attitude will definitely get spot recognition.

An In-depth Research on the Industry

Follow, Watch, Read, Observe! Getting content is easier than ever these days with the abundance of communication vehicles available right at your fingertips. The first step to building your foundation is giving yourself enough exposure on what is happening around you. The world doesn't end at your neighborhood, nor does it end with your country. Using apps like Flipboard, Pinterest, YouTube or Instagram will help you keep updated with the current affairs of your interests. Consume as much content as you can take but put a filter on all that consumption! Take in what's good and leave the residue behind. This might seem trickier than it actually is in the beginning- how will you know what to take and what to ignore. Do trust the experts! Follow top reviewers, top design critics, You Tubers and so on to get an idea of what's hot and what's not! Knowledge is something that can never have a closure. Learn about the industry, its people, trends and rules. Recently I was shocked when someone who introduced himself as a graphic designer couldn't name (not even) one graphic design trend. Keep striving as this is a highly competitive world we are living in, which will not stop or slow down for one person. Learn to love the whole process and not just the output.
