The higher education in Indonesia is being reformed at present by following developments in world issues such as establishing 'Independent Campus, Freedom to Learn' (Kampus Merdeka, Merdeka Belajar) policy. This policy provides broader opportunities for students to explore themselves and plunge into the specifications of their expertise and passion. Along with the dynamism of Indonesia's education scheme, The Faculty of Economics, Universitas Islam Sultan Agung (FE UNISSULA) upholds strong Islamic ideology with local wisdom values (Indonesia's main values) and still respect diversity to create harmony in the world. One of the leading faculties in the Universitas Islam Sultan Agung, FE UNISSULA has prepared itself by including soft competencies based on Islamic values which will be timeless and will not fade with any changes in the world. All activities aim to support the university's vision namely – ‘As the leading Islamic Universities in raising the khairaummah generation, developing science and technology on the basis of Islamic values and building Islamic civilization towards a prosperous society blessed by Allah SWT in the framework of rahmatan lil a’lamin.’ The university wants to realize the best generation or called ‘khoira ummah’ in various scientific facets encompassing a big hope whereby the best generation will be formed comprehensively with the basic moral of Islam as rahmatallil’alamin (a mercy to all creation) and professionalism on each field. FE UNISSULA continues in a specific mission in the fields of business and economics, specifically - To be a prominent school in raising a generation of Islamic civilization builder through transformative education in accounting and management.

Always ready to support and accompany any direction of Indonesian government policies relating to education in tertiary institutions, FE UNISSULA strives to create Islamic Business Scientists, Islamic Business Professionals Workers, and Islamic Digital Entrepreneurs as part of the khoiro ummah generation. It is the best generation capable of becoming Khalifatullahfil Ardh by carrying out the task of prospering life on earth. “Our graduates are equipped with digital skills to become scientists and professional business practitioners or build a start-up business with a global outlook and have Islamic character with five core values. They are Cooperation, Leadership, Innovative, Fairness, and Amanah, which is shortened to Choolifah. Besides, to always instill our institution's vision and mission, we always echo our tagline; FE UNISSULA, Learn Islamically, Globally, and Digital friendly. Different from other universities, we integrate Islamic ideology into the education system. In Indonesia, the government requires higher education to carry out the tri dharma, including teaching, research, and community service. All tri dharma activities that we carry out always based on Islamic values to build Islamic civilization in society. We prepare expert teaching staff with a lot of research to strengthen the Islamic economy, strengthen MSMEs, and develop ICT applications in business to benefit society. However, we still facilitate our experts and students to develop relevant topics to our vision and mission”, states Olivia Fachrunnisa, Professor of Management Science and senior researcher - Dept. of Management, Faculty of Economics and Business, Universitas Islam Sultan Agung (UNISSULA).
