Indonesian higher education system is striving to compete with its neighbors such as Malaysia and Thailand to attract international students from across the globe. Several steps including allowing of foreign universities to open branches in the country have been taken by Indonesian government to strengthen the country's higher education. In this special issue, we have put the spotlight on this educational landscape.
