SPN Doshi Women's College: Supporting The "Betipadhao, Betibachao" Initiative

The "BetiPadhao, BetiBachao" movement by Honorable Prime Minister, Sri.NarendraModi, is an initiative concerning the situation of women in India. We have progressed together as a nation but there are still certain sections of society that are untouched by the basic privileges that women deserve. Where most Indian women today, are breaking the glass ceiling and are a leading source of inspiration for the entire world, there are some who are still struggling for their basic right to education.
Since in inception in 1960, Smt. P.N. Doshi Women's College is managed by SPRJ Kanyashala Trust, and conducted by Sarvajanik Education Society, Smt. P. N. Doshi Women's College takes pride in caring for the underprivileged and nurturing good human beings. The motto of the Institution is to Educate, Enlighten and Empower women. It strives to motivate the weak, address the average and challenge the gifted.
The institute was ideally formed to provide free education to girls, especially coming from unprivileged sections of the society. The Institute envisions to be recognized as a center of excellence for women's education that empowers them to become self-reliant and responsible citizens who would contribute to build a healthy society. It offers equal opportunities to students coming from diverse backgrounds training them towards entrepreneurial and employability skills for economic independence.

Offering A Variety of Courses Under Well Equipped Infrastructure
The Institute offers the following practical courses - M. Com with Specialization Finance, B.Com. with specialization in Accounting & Auditing, B. Com. With Accounting & Finance, COP in Taxation, and Add on Course in GST.
The institute has a well accommodated infrastructure with various laboratories for all subject-spectrum. Also, the classrooms are well equipped for smart-learning classes. The institute has well trained and experienced faculties to impart their knowledge to the students. The faculty members are also industry experts that train the students to become industry ready.

The Institute encourages contextual learning theories where the learning is integrated with real world practical experiences. The students participate in several seminars, conferences and competitions where they learn and explore. They also win accolades in the yearly International Economic Convention.
Programs For Financial Assistance
The education is supported by various financial schemes to nearly 5000 girls through Junior colleges, Degree colleges, Professional Courses, Post Graduate Departments as well as Career Institute. There are scholar-ships and fee reimbursement services for the weaker section students too. There are two programs for financial assistance the Micro-Finance program for educational loans, and Scholarship Programs for financial aid to the needy.
The institute has a Progression and Placement Cell which has tied up with many corporates to give training and placements to the students. It also provides placement trainings in association with the placement partners and subsequent training opportunities. To name a few, the placement partners are -Techno serve, Tata Strive, TCS, ICICI, Infosys, Datamatics, Cognizant, ABP.
SPN Doshi Women's College is credited as - A Grade & High Per-forming Institute by NAAC for 3 consecutive years. Last academic year, it had 7 University Ranks. The Institute dedicates itself in overall skill development of its students including academics, industry expo-sure, attitude and leadership. Last year, it completed its Diamond Jubilee and plans to continue the legacy with high aspirations.
