After a regressive national search, Sanjay Gupta has been recommended to serve as the new dean of the Eli Broad College of Business at Michigan State University. If approved by the MSU Board of Trustees, his appointment would be effective June 17. Gupta currently serves as acting dean of the business college and is the Russell E. Palmer Endowed Professor in Accounting. He joined the Broad College in 2007 as chairperson of the Department of Accounting and Information Systems. He was appointed associate dean for MBA and professional master's programs in July 2012. "The positive direction, growth and momentum the college has experienced under Sanjay's leadership as acting dean signal a bright future for the college in the coming years," says MSU Provost June Pierce Youatt.
