Sambhram Institute of Technology started its operations as an engineering institute by incorporating Computer and IT related courses. The institute was established with an initiative to find a probable answer to the vastly prevailing issue of candidates not being job ready. "The initiative that led to the inception of Sambhram Institute of Technology was to bridge the gap between the industry and institutes and to cater to the needs of the students and their interest in technical education," says V. Nagaraj, Vice Chairman, Sambhram Institutions.

Pertaining to the current times, the institution has paid heed to a commonly heard issue of graduating candidates lacking employable skills and performance on field. "Poor employability is due to the fact that students study to clear exams and not to inculcate what they have learnt for the betterment of the society," states Nagaraj. Aiding this ailment, the institute focuses on work orientation with values and employability. The focus is for the students to know what the industry needs from the Day One of joining the college. The institution strives to make students aware of the industry right from the day of its inception.

In provision of preparing job ready graduates, the institution has tie-ups with leading names of the industry such as Wipro, Infosys and Texas Instruments. Industrial insights are provided by the MOUs of Sambhram Institute of Technology. Interactions with the industry across domains of IT, Civil, Mechanical and Manufacturing, is a method of coping with the industry and providing relevant insight to the students. The institute outsources faculty to the industry and dignitaries are invited to visit the campus for guest lectures. It provides a platform for expression and enables students to put forth solutions while closely monitoring the industry to customize solutions based on its requirements. The institute's innovative research with its patents has developed an Entrepreneurship Development Cell (EDC) that gives constant guidance to students who want to start their own enterprise. A remarkable number of the alumni have established successful entrepreneurial enterprises. Its innovation and research have provided a new platform for students who are willing to go the extra mile with their careers and dreams.

Multi-Disciplinary Exposure

Located in Bangalore, KGF and Chittoor, the institute exhibits research support on an active forefront that enables students and lecturers to actively pursue their field of interest in research. Through its incubation centers, Sambhram Institute of Technology offers opportunities of doing multiple research programs and projects on a single platform. The technology adapted in the incubation centers is the same as that used in the industry that enables multiple research projects to be carried out simultaneously. The infrastructure is economically used and every facility is utilized to its utmost purpose. The institute has six research centers in the campus and the faculty is actively involved in research along with the students.

Following the pursuit of the institution, the faculty has a hand in preparing engineering candidates that are ready to face the industry. The current team of faculty staff consists of 35 PhD holders and 22 more pursuing the same. The institute has seen a rise in faculty intake and the number is prone to rise. The institution has placed various measures through which up-gradation of faculty's skills and knowledge is carried out that enable active delivery of teaching and industry insight. The institute views its students as budding professionals in the industry and has an aspect called Proctor Scheme where constant support and assistance is provided to students with lecturers as their proctors.

In addition to this Pre Placement activities in the institute have been a highlight as they have reaped fruit during placements. Every department has a forum that recognizes the talents of the students and encourages them to participate in other institutions. Project exhibitions are organized every year, where students present functional projects. The institute is also closely associated with the Government of Karnataka with projects like Sakala Scheme and is currently in talks with ISRO.

Every year 600 to 650 students graduate and more than 90 percent get recruited through campus. Based on subjects and specialization, companies are invited among which Infosys, Wipro, HCl, Accenture and many start-ups are common names of recruiters at campus. With a road map to make a centre for excellence in every department and to be ranked amongst the top institutions of the country, Sambhram Institute of Technology renders its utmost services in finding solutions to preparing job ready graduates.
