In the Indian higher education realm, NEP 2020 is expected to be a game changer which is encouraging educators and policy makers to bring in new education reforms to increase the quality of Indian higher education. Now, there is an increasing emphasis on research and handson training as well. Foreign universities are being allowed to establish campuses in India which will help increase academic opportunities for students. Furthermore, over the last couple of years, technology adoption has increased rapidly in higher education institutions across the country which is helping in improving the quality of higher education. RV University is one of the frontrunners when it comes to academic innovation and technology adoption in India. It was established by the Rashtreeya Sikshana Samithi Trust, an 82-year-old trust. Starting with just six students in 1940, the trust now operates 22 institutions catering to students starting from kindergarten all the way to the PhD level. RV University is committed to provide high quality liberal education which has helped it to develop as one of the preferred higher education destinations in the country.

Murthy, Founding Vice Chancellor and Founding Dean-School of Law, RV University says "From the very beginning itself, we have prioritized on bringing in outstanding faculty members so that we can offer best-in-class higher education to our students. We have collaborations with both national and international partners, and we have been working on multiple fronts to ensure that there is excellence in the field of higher education. Through all this, we are aiming to bring in a paradigm shift in the Indian higher education system. We are giving major emphasis on research right from the undergraduate level. We have established multiple research centers and have consciously embraced researchcum- teaching intensive educational model".
Through its emphasis on experiential education, multidisciplinary learning, and international collaborations, RV University is aiming to be distinct from other universities. The institute has six interdisciplinary schools which include School of Liberal Arts and Sciences, School of Design and Innovation, School of Computer Science and Engineering, School of Economics, School of Business, and School of Law. These schools offer a variety of majors and minors for the students. This means that students from one school can take minor programs offered by another school thereby expanding their horizons. Apart from this, RV University has taken interdisciplinary education to the next level by not having a specific building or classroom earmarked for the use of a certain school. Every facility is sharable across different schools of the university and it promotes regular dialogue between them which prevents them from operating in silos. This strong relationship between the schools also allows them to work on important interdisciplinary research.

Talking more about how the institute ensures consistent quality in its education, Prof. (Dr.) Y.S.R. Murthystates "Each School has established a Board of Studies (BOS) which includes experts from both the industry and academia. Our curriculum is regularly reviewed by the Board of Studies (BOS) so that it is in alignment with the latest technological developments and industry requirements. We constantly update it and each school has an impressive international board of advisors to guide us in various arenas. We have signed MoUs with various international organizations which we leverage to offer unique programmes for our students. Students also have useful internship opportunities in these programmes. These programmes help our students to acquire reallife practical experience which will help them be better prepared for the industry". RV University's four-year B.Sc. (Hons.) Decision Sciences programme, which was launched in collaboration with Mu Sigma, a global leader in pure-play Data Analytics, is a great example of programmes developed in collaborations with the industry.

Evolving with the changing times, RV University is committed to preparing students for life-long learning and it aspires to make its students adept on the process of how to learn. Going forward, the RVU has created a 10-year strategic action plan as a part of which, it aims to establish a School of Film and New Media Studies and a School of Public Policy in the near future. The RVU also has plans for expanding the number of degree programmes so that it can offer a better multidisciplinary higher education experience to its students.
