Established in 2001, Rajagiri College of Social Sciences (RCSS) endeavours to bring out professionals who are geared to face the challenges ahead with high level of competency. Enriched with a strong academic curriculum and add-on courses in communicative English, System Administration, Technical Writing and many more, the institute offers an environment, which could stimulate the students' learning experience to a greater level. This has made the Cochin based Rajagiri College one of the most sought after destinations in Kerala for the aspiring students who want to pursue IT as their career path.

Rajagiri College was one among the first in Kerala to be declared autonomous by UGC and continuously accredited in the highest rating by NAAC for consecutively three cycles. As a renowned autonomous educational institution in India with collaborations across the globe, NAAC has accredited the college with A (CGPA 3.70), which is among the highest in India. The institute is twinning partners of several foreign universities like Western Michigan University, Columbus State University-Texas, Assumption University -Thailand, Nazareth College of Rochester - New York, James Cook University - Australia, Katholische University Eichstt-Ingolstadt, Germany, Universite Catholique De Lille France, canakkale Onsekiz Mart University -Turkey, Coventry University - England, Dundee University - Scotland, Sojo University - Japan to name a few.

Keeping a revised curriculum is one of the foremost priorities of the Rajagiri College. A number of important elements have been added in the curriculum to match with the demands of the current industry requirements. Programming series such as J2EE, PhP, Struts and Hibernate, Android, Python, iOS are part of the regular study at Rajagiri College. Information Security tools including Mathematical Foundations of Information Security, Web and Database Security, Cyber Forensics; Data Science including Data Warehousing, Digital Image Processing, Soft Computing; and Advanced Software Engineering including Software Requirements Engineering, Software Design and architecture, Software Testing, Software Project Management, Software Risk Management, User Interface Design are some of the other major inclusions in the curriculum so far.

The Computer Science Department under the Rajagiri College is equipped with ICT enabled classrooms, state-of-the-art computer lab, innovative lab and a System Administration lab. "We are in continuous effort to keep at par with the recent upgrades in the industry. The labs are well installed with the Computer systems and its latest configurations, optic fibre connected labs," says Dr. Joseph I Injodey, Executive Director, Rajagiri College of Social Science. The Department has an active Microsoft Campus agreement for the proprietary software and is well equipped with open source software. They also use Moodle as the learning management system.

The faculty team of Rajagiri College comprises of highly qualified staff with an average teaching experience of more than 12 years. The team is very active in research and all of them have international publications to their credit. Many of them are consultants in the industry, and acts as resource persons in the field of data mining, mobile computing and computer security. It is due to the faculty members that the department takes pride in the various achievements by their students.

Receiving an in-depth form of learning from the staff as well as from various industry professionals, the students have successfully received notable internships and have been successfully placed as highly reputed professionals. As the institute takes pride on its alma mater that includes VP of TCS, Senior Analyst with IBM, Oracle, Accenture, Infosys, Dr. Injodey mentions, "We are consistent in achieving 100 percent placement record with a package from Rs. 10LPA to Rs. 3 LPA."

The institute keeps a strong relationship with its alumni. Dr. Injodey says, "Our alumni are actively involved with the activities of the department from the orientation process. At least two alumni interactions are held every academic year. Alumni sponsor prizes to IT FEST conducted by the department and has instituted scholarship programs, prizes for the outstanding students."

At present, the department has an intake of 45 students with a faculty �student ratio of 1:15. The institute has an active Student Union Body who organizes Sports Day, Arts Day and all festive celebrations. The Computer Science Students' Association (CSTAR) is a forum, which is managed by the students of the School of Computer Science. This forum is responsible for intercollegiate participation, technical fest conducted by the department and other non-technical event exposure.

The institute has successfully established and maintained the apt ambience for learning and the highest level of academic performance by providing state-of-the-art infrastructure and facilities. Dr. Joseph I. Injodey

Dr. Joseph I. Injodey served as Principal of the College from 2002-2015. He is a Post Graduate in Social Work from Loyola College, Chennai and received his PhD from Mahatma Gandhi University, Kottayam. He has 30 years of teaching experience at the postgraduate level in Rajagiri College of Social Sciences. He has lead many accreditation teams of UGC NAAC to various institutions. An accomplished trainer, he has offered various training programmes both in India and abroad. With his wide experience in teaching and administration, he sets ever-increasing standards for the College and supports the progress of faculty and students through regular training programs and academic inputs.
