Program Efficacy: Mody University

Mody University values and recognizes international education as an important step in making them competitive globally. To expand the global opportunities to women students, Mody University has forged more than 20 international collaborations with renowned foreign universities. Universite de Nantes, France, Ecole Des Mines de Nantes, France, Stony Brook University (USA), University of Missouri (USA), University of North Texas (USA) and Florida International (USA) are few to name among them. "Many of our students are regularly selected for paid internships and research fellowships by noted foreign institute. For example, four students won the prestigious summer internships at CERN (European Centre for Nuclear Research), Geneva, Switzerland, one student selected for full time fellowships at GSI, Germany and two students from Nuclear Technology went to Ecole De Nantes, France for one year internships," claims Dr. Adwani.
Mody University is the first Women University, which is having International Collaborations with France, Germany, USA, Canada and Switzerland. Last year, 12 BTech students from Mody University went to France and USA for summer internship and students of MTech were selected for training in Nuclear Security for one month in USA with all expenses paid including travel. "Next summer we are planning to send about 25 students abroad for internships. The GE foundation, USA (JFWTC) had offered four scholarships to our BTech students. Academic leaders and researchers from the international institutions regularly visit Mody University," shares Dr. Adwani.
Under the leadership of Dr. Adwani, the university is running Career Development Centre (CDC), which is responsible for the Training and Placement of the students of all the Colleges of the University. With an objective to groom the students both technically and with positive attitude towards their life, CDC acts as a single window nodal point for their Career Counseling, higher learning and thrives for the 100 percent placement of all eligible students of the University. CDC also facilitates tie-ups and collaborations with different companies through MoUs, introduction of industry electives and courses, faculty development programs, establishment industry supported Laboratories, inclusion of industry experts in various boards of studies and other related forums and committees, online training and certifications and many more. "To acquaint students to recent trends in the industry CDC organize regular expert lectures, workshops, seminars, webinars and so on in consultation with industry and also arrange "Get Togethers" with alumni of the University," states Dr. Adwani. The CDC department has also adopted the Finishing School concept to make their efforts effective and to maximize the reach. They have formed two committees in consultation with the respective deans of individual colleges.
Today, with all the necessary infrastructure and intellectual capital, Mody University has become an abode where education empowers individuals to challenge conventional thinking in pursuit of original ideas. Each student will encounter that attitude all around the Mody University campus, in education, in scholarship and in research.

Dr. Adwani received his BTech from IIT Mumbai and pursued Management Studies at Mumbai University. He has specialized in the areas of Operations Management and Project Management as well as developed expertise in Turnaround Management. His research interests encompass Globalization of Higher Education and Issues related to Family Businesses.

In 25 years, Mody University has transformed a piece of desert land with numerous sand dunes into an oasis of 265 acres with vast green lawns, a variety of fountains, extensive flower beds, tree shaded streets and avenues. There are also numerous water bodies and marshland with exotic birds and aquatic animals. They have implemented several measures for conservation and these efforts have resulted in thousands of birds of over 100 species, and butterflies of 14 species - their numbers continuously growing - making the campus their habitat. Ornithologists and Lepidopterologists from World Wildlife Fund (WWF) and other nature conservation organizations, who visit the Mody University regularly resulting in University having a WWF certified campus, have identified these species. The University also has over 14,000 trees of some 300 different species, including several species that are not found anywhere else around.
