Amongst the various institutes who put focus on skill development; this issue of HER brings to the readers Nettur Technical Training Foundation, an institute providing technical training over five decades as the "College of the month." With the purpose of imparting quality education with good employment opportunities NTTF is known for providing the most rigorous Diploma programs in India with emphasis on practical and hands-on knowledge. As the institute completes its 57 years of existence since 1963, NTTF is known as producing the best professionals required in the industry and boasts about their curriculum which is designed accordingly by gathering feedback from academicians and industry representative as per the industry requirements. NTTF offers various programs in varied verticals such as Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics, Information Technology and Computer Engineering. They offer full time technical training programs at Certificate, Diploma, Post diploma and Postgraduate levels along with courses under Short Term Vocational Programs, Communication and Attitudinal Skills.

Among the 60 courses available, the Learn and Earn training program has seen consistent demand and has been very fruitful for students. This program under the aegis of AICTE's "NEEM" (National Employability Enhancement Mission) scheme and is carved out exclusively for the under opportune youth in the age group of 18-23 years who are either matriculation, pre-university course or ITI passed and have discontinued studies previously and now seeking for a bright career in the technical field. Students are introduced with various organizations supported with a reasonable monthly stipendiary benefit to sustain their living expenses while they still pursue their technical training in NTTF. Today, NTTF is conducting this unique program in partnership with over 32 companies pan India with student strength of around 3000 on rolls.

As the institute ensures an advanced training to their student, it is worth mentioning that they have to undergo through a structured training methodology which involves a 70 percent practical and 30 percent theory. During their training period they work 8 hours of training in shifts every day and is treated as a professional right from day one to groom them according to the work timings and similar environment in a professional world. Once they start the training they are groomed to meet any challenges of their professional and personal life and season them morally and ethically.

They believe in some key points to indulge with the students and end up building a holistic environment for their growth. Skills enhancement, activities like role-play, group discussion and presentation, game-oriented activities and case studies, exposure to latest technologies, industrial exposure and visits, industrial training, exposure to modern engineering practices, sports and cultural events forms the foundation of learning in NTTF.

With a view to involve industry, collaboration have been made time to time with reputed industry such as Tata Steel, Hyderabad Batteries, Jindal Steel Works, TATA Steel Skill Development Society, Southern Petrochemical Industries Corporation and many more to bring in edge to students skill sets. NTTF started with 700-800 students and today provides training to 12000 students with faculty strength of 1000.

Having state-of-the-art infrastructures with wifi and PC tablet enabled for every student through which they can stay connected with the faculty regarding their course and subject matter is one of the basic yet core element to bond teacher-student relationship.It is believed and followed in the institute to have a strong relationship between them only to make inhibition and ignorance leave from learning process. The faculty members undergo faculty development programs and the students who need more guidance are provided with specially counseling and mentoring both morally and ethically.

The institute keeping their legacy of producing skilled professionals not only trains them but equally provide placement opportunities to earn their place in the industry. Along with the industry partners, the students are placed in top notch organizations and receive an attractive salary ranging from Rs. 2.4 lakh p.a. to the highest of Rs. 3.6 lakh p.a.

The institute has alumni spread all over the globe. They assist in placement of outgoing trainees, updating curriculum by providing valuable feedback; and also in the introduction of new programs as per the developments in relevant technical fields. Over the years the institute, NTTF a private education trust is the living symbol of Indo-Swiss co-operation supported with generous assistance from the Government of Switzerland, HEKS (a Swiss NGO) and Swiss Development Co-operation. They have expanded the number of centers to 35 pan India in places spread over 16 Statesand contributed to the skilled human resources of India continuing their glory.

He is a B.E, PGTE and has been associated with NTTF since 1982 taking care of the training and certification activities at the institute presently. He represented India as a Technical Delegate for the "World-Skills" at Calgary, London and has been nominated by NSDC, Govt. of India, New Delhi, as a Technical Delegate for "World-Skills International" held in Leipzig, Brazil and next in Abu Dhabi in the year 2017.
