Institute has been organizing certification program for MCA students in the all upcoming areas such as Microsoft Cloud, Big Data, Android, Ethical hacking, HTML5 etc. to keep the students abreast on technology front. The Institute is equally concerned about overall development of the students and has been organizing Dale Carnegie Workshops for soft skill development, Aptitude training programs and personality development programs regularly. Interaction with the industries in the form of academic advisory board, industrial visits, internship, research projects and guest lecture is a regular feature of the institute. MIT SOM has a strong academic advisory board, which helps in identifying areas for additional inputs for the students. Through meetings held at regular intervals, the board updates the contents of the curriculum as and when it is needed. Research projects and papers help the students in gaining insights of upcoming areas in Information Technology," adds Dr. Gankar. During this time, faculty members at MITSOM play a key role as mentors who not only pass the knowledge to the students but also guide them well to be better professionals. The institute encourages the faculty members to participate in seminars, conferences and conducts faculty development programs for their own practice and boosting their knowledge as well. Talking about the institute's plans for the upcoming academic years, Director Dr. Gankar says, "We will be emphasizing more on live projects through various funding agencies and will give more thrust on incubation center for innovation and development. Along with that, our Management Development Center (MDC) will be organizing various faculty development programs and training programs for academia and industry in addition to the existing efforts that we have been taking. Institute is also working on virtual classrooms to broaden its sphere of knowledge imparting activities."
